What is FTP?

Answer:

FTP can be thought of as a secure "backdoor" to your web host server, and that is required by our editor in order to access the files in your site. It is a common and normal operation that occurs in practically every website.

It consists of three items:

1) the FTP location (usually looks like ftp.domain.com, or www.domain.com)

2) your FTP username (this is usually a special username used only for FTP)

3) your FTP password (this is usually a special password used only for FTP)

You can get your FTP information directly from your host. Just call them or email them and ask for your FTP information. It is normal and within your rights to access your web files through FTP.
